Definitions in the Rules of Golf - Part 1

The Rules of Golf book after speaking of the label in Golf, speaks of the "Definitions" in sport.

In his second section "Definitions" the golf rule book defines a variety of sports-related words, as well as words used in the rules, (eg determines the definition of "bunker" to use, and explaining that means or comprising when speaking of a bunker).

Read the rules say, in the 2nd section "Definitions", the definitions are ordered alphabetically, and starting with:

"Casual water" is any temporary accumulation of water on the field that is not in a water hazard and is visible before or after the player takes his stance. Snow and natural ice, other than frost, are casual water or loose impediments at the option of the player. Manufactured ice is an obstruction. Dew and frost are not casual water. A ball is in casual water when resting or any part of it touches the casual water.

) Burrowing Animal (Burrowing Animal)
A "burrowing animal" is one (not a worm, insect or similar) digging a hole to inhabit or shelter, such as a rabbit, mole, a groundhog, a squirrel or a salamander.
Note: A hole made ​​by an animal that is not burrow, such as a dog, not an abnormal ground condition, unless so marked or declared as ground under repair.

) Referee (Referee)
An "arbitrator" means a person designated by the Committee to accompany players to decide questions of fact and apply the Rules. Must respond to any infringement notice or rule combines will be reported. A referee should not attend the flagstick, stand near the hole or mark its position, nor lift the ball or mark its position.

) Flagstick (flagstick)
The "flagstick" is a movable straight indicator, with or without flag or other material or added, placed in the center of the hole to indicate its position. Must be circular in cross section. It prohibited any padding or cushioning material that may unduly influence the movement of the ball.

) Through the Green (Through the Green)
"Through the court" is the entire area of the court, except:
a. The teeing ground and putting green of the hole being played, and b. All hazards of the court.
